The Virgin of the Encounter was designed and crafted at the Javier Viver Studio and is available in various sizes to enhance both personal prayer and communal spaces, chapels, or retreats.

The larger sizes have been specially designed for chapels and spaces used for retreats and gatherings.

DESCRIPTION OF THE SCULPTURE

The Virgin's crown is made up of roses and butterflies—symbols that Javier Viver has incorporated into the work.

The crown also has a profound spousal meaning: Mary, Spouse of the Holy Spirit, reminds us that every person is called to an intimate union with God.

Because an encounter with Christ is not just a moment. It is a call to let oneself be transformed.

There are encounters that change your life.

There are moments when something happens inside us, and we never see things the same way again.

 A Mass. A conversation. A retreat. A person who appears at just the right moment. A moment of silence in which, suddenly, we realize that Christ was there.

The Virgin of the Encounter was born to accompany precisely that experience: the encounter with Jesus.

Mary was the first to experience it. In her, God made himself present in a unique way. She was the first tabernacle, the first creature to welcome the Word made flesh into her womb.

That is why Mary does not keep us with her. She leads us to Him.

Just as at Cana, when it says:

"Do whatever He tells you."

Her maternal mission remains the same: to help us open our hearts, recognize Christ, and allow ourselves to be transformed by Him. The Church teaches precisely that Mary’s maternal mission fosters the union of believers with Christ.
