Javier Viver, sculptor and contemporary artist, is the creator of the unique work Our Lady of Hakuna. The piece was commissioned by the Hakuna Group, a young and influential Christian community made up of people of all ages. Their spirit is based on offering, sharing and also enjoying life with faith.
The Hakuna Group stands out especially for its concerts. In them, they sing what they live, transmitting the joy of faith and the figure of Christ. Inspired by this communion between music and devotion, the sculpture Our Lady of Hakuna reflects humility and dedication, attitudes that the group wishes to offer to God and their neighbors.
In Javier Viver's work, Our Lady of Hakuna is represented as a pregnant Virgin. She is seated on her own feet and kneeling in an attitude of prayer. This image breaks with the classical tradition and incorporates a modern and close approach, which connects with the woman of today.
Finally, the sculpture Our Lady of Hakuna is a clear example of Javier Viver's style. With it he reaffirms his vision within sacred art: to unite the contemporary with the spiritual in order to bring the faith closer in a simple and profound way.
