Description
Maria Esperanza de Oriente is an original sculpture by contemporary artist Javier Viver, the result of a special commission by a Chinese family living in Shanghai. This work was born from the desire to merge Marian spirituality with the aesthetics and symbolism of oriental art, thus achieving a unique and deeply meaningful piece.
The initial inspiration for this image comes from an earlier work by the sculptor: La Bella Pastoracreated for the Congregation of Iesu Communio. In this new interpretation, Viver adapts the figure of the Virgin Mary to reflect cultural and physical elements of the Asian context, giving her a visual identity deeply rooted in the Eastern tradition. The result is a serene and maternal sculpture, where Mary, bearer of hope, is presented with soft and delicate features, in an attitude of welcome and compassion.
Maria Esperanza de Oriente is not only an artistic expression, but also a bridge between cultures and a symbol of universal faith. Its delicate design, spiritual message and careful execution make this work an ideal piece for spaces of prayer, meditation and recollection, both in private and community contexts.
With this creation, Javier Viver once again demonstrates his ability to translate spirituality into contemporary sculptural forms, respecting the religious and cultural roots of each commission. The sculpture is part of a limited edition, making it a unique collector's item for those seeking sacred art with symbolic depth and refined aesthetics.
