Center for Wisdom: Francisco de Vitoria University
Mary watches as the Baby Jesus writes in the Book of Life: “I make all things new.”
Seat of Wisdom: Francisco de Vitoria University is inspired by the Marian title “Mary, Seat of Wisdom.” The sculpture depicts the Virgin Mary holding Christ, the Wisdom of God, while the Child Jesus writes the words of Revelation in the book of life: “I make all things new.”
The scene depicts a Child who, though truly God, tenderly draws near to human history to renew it from within. He does not appear distant or unapproachable, but rather close, welcoming, and full of mercy. Mary contemplates this silent gesture in which Christ continues to write the story of each person with a promise of new life.
The Open Book reminds us that God knows our joys, our wounds, and our paths, and that no life is lost to Him.
The work has been conceived as a contemporary religious sculpture capable of resonating with both the university setting and the home. It is a piece created for those who seek to surround themselves with meaningful beauty—for mothers who pray for their children, teachers who guide young lives, young couples starting a life together, or people who wish to make their home a place filled with hope.
More than just a devotional figure, the Seat of Wisdom at Francisco de Vitoria University is an invitation to pause, reflect, and remember that God continues to make all things new.
