ADVENT is experienced with Mary.

ADVENT comes from the Latin"Adventus Redemtoris," which means"Coming of the Redeemer," that is , it gives its name to the time that the Church sets aside to welcome the coming of the baby Jesus.

Each Sunday has a spiritual theme that helps us live this waiting period. At this link, you can download Advent Prayers so that every Sunday you can pray them as a family before the Virgin Mary.

1st Sunday of Advent: HOPE

Mary walks with a heart full of promise. The Mother of Hope reminds us that all waiting has meaning, that God's love always comes, even if it seems to take a long time.

2ndSunday of Advent: PEACE

Maria is silent. Everything is prepared. Our Lady of Peace, together with the rest of theAdvent Virgins, unite in the same love to transmit to us the peace and serenity of Advent.

Prayer first Sunday of Advent. Hope. Mother of Hope.

3rd Sunday of Advent: JOY

Mary feels the living God in her womb and her heart is filled with joy. Our Lady of Alegra reflects this serene joy, that of the one who carries within her the Life that transforms everything.

Prayer for the Third Sunday of Advent. Joy. Our Lady of Joy.

Prayer Second Sunday of Advent. Peace. Our Lady of Peace.

4thSunday of Advent: LOVE

Mary is silent and listens. Her faith is that of one who trusts without seeing, of one who knows that the Lord keeps his promises. The Beautiful Shepherdess, with her serene gaze, represents that patient faith that sustains the waiting and prepares the heart for the encounter with Jesus: the LOVE of loves.

Prayer for the Fourth Sunday of Advent. Love. Beautiful Shepherdess.

Place an Advent Virgin in your home : Mother of Hope, Bella Pastora, Our Lady of Joy, Our Lady of Peace or Our Lady of Hakuna, and accompany her, day by day, until the arrival of the Child Jesus.
