Guide on HOWTO ENTHRONIZE SAINT JOSEPH in your home

WHAT IS ENTHRONING SAINT JOSEPH?

Enthroning Saint Joseph consists of placing a blessed image of Saint Joseph in a place of honor in your home, recognizing him as protector, guardian, and model of the family. This act implies a commitment to Christian life, praying as a family (especially on Wednesdays), and seeking his protection in order to imitate his virtues. 

Steps for the Enthronement:

• PREPARATION:

Prepare a prominent place (small altar) with the image of Saint Joseph, candles, and flowers.

• BLESSING:

If possible, ask a priest to bless the image (don't worry, ours come blessed).

• THE CEREMONY:
  1. Opening Prayer: Prayers of Invocation, Our Father, Hail Mary, and Glory Be.
  2. Bible Reading: Short passage about Saint Joseph. (Matthew 1:18-24)
  3. Enthronement/Consecration Prayer: The prayer is read, placing the family under the protection of Saint Joseph, choosing him as father, protector, and guide of their spiritual and material goods. (Download the PDF of the prayer below).
  4. Closing: Song or ejaculation to the saint.
